not everything is as it seems

Often in life we have notions that things will be a certain way and our notions are challenged. Sometimes we call these notions stereotypes, sometimes we call them prejudices, sometimes we call them racism.  After all, you know what assuming does? Every now and then, something comes along that obliterates our preconceptions. Every now and then, something challenges our way of seeing things not how we would have them to be, but as they actually are.  Nothing further illustrates this than when such an example shows up in a reality TV show:
